Hi everyone,
Ed and I went to a woodworking show two Sundays ago.
As we walked into the show, the smell of fresh cut wood was so wonderful. It’s the smell that excites us, just like fresh wood burning in the fireplace or apple pie baking.
It gets your senses excited.
As we were checking out all of the talented vendors with their interest in wood, we came upon a vendor that was selling all of the old tools of the day.
Wow,
If they could talk…!
It fascinates me how these timeless tools still work, and all of the talent behind the person working with them and their gifts…
I found a box full of old locks with keys, and I couldn’t stop digging through them and playing with them.
Three people came over to me asking me questions about them; we all were just fascinated with them.
It was awesome- the great mystery of where all of these locks came from.
We were trying to relive the story of them.
We all wanted to purchase one, but I was so undecided, until I found the one from Italy .
I guess that was my favorite , due to being Italian …
Who doesn’t love Italy…
I bought the lock that was stamped,
Viro,
Made in Italy
Linda, the woman who was digging with me, settled on one that was stamped made in Torrington, because she was from there.
We all had a comment on our purchases, and we were all cracking up.
It’s the mystery…
The mechanics…
The mechanisms…
And the fascination of a lock that really makes your mind wonder.
Along with those old keys-
called ghost keys,
skeleton keys, or wisdom keys.
It’s the fascination that really sparks our interests from the past and the great stories.
