Hi everyone,
This past Sunday, Ed and I had to put to rest our cat Sambucca of almost 20 years.
We all shared together a bond of love, personalities, and laughter in our home.
Everyone who had an opportunity to know her, knew of her injury at age 3- being run over by a vehicle and crushing her fourth vertebrae, supposedly never to walk again.
By the grace of God, Reiki, Arch Angel Raphael, and all of my energy healers,
Bucca did walk again.
Her vertebrae was fused together, I saw with my eyes in the X-ray.
It was a miracle…
I always say,
“Don’t wait for a miracle, be a part of one…”
Her many AKA names were:
Bucca, short for Sambucca
Curious George, she was always at my side, when I was cleaning, going into the garage or gardening. Sometimes I didn’t know she got out, because she was so black you never saw her.
She’d be hiding in our huge socks basket, buried in the socks, looking right at you in hiding.
You would just crack up when you did find her!
Houdini, was the last nickname we gave to her, due to us needing to place boards around the room so she would just stay in our TV room, where she had plenty of area to still roam.
We didn’t want her to fall down the stairs and get hurt, so our tv room was her new headquarters for the last 6 months of her life.
Patty, Emma, and I just couldn’t believe it; Sambucca was always breaking out and we would find her in our kitchen at the bottom of the stairs, trying so hard to get up those stairs, back to her TV room. It was wild, none of us could figure how she did it.
All of us would crack up over how determined, smart, strong, and independent she was.
She was our fierce Bast goddess warrior, who taught us all to be loving, strong, independent and let no injury hold you back…
There’s a lot to be learned from our loving, furry friends we bring on our journey in life.
They truly choose us for a reason, if you can tap into that energy.
I will truly miss her, but I do know that her spirit will always be in our home, where she lay down next to Ed’s chair and went to sleep.
It was here that she felt safe enough to say goodbye for now.
It was on her terms when she decide to leave the building.
Thanks for the memories, until we meet again…
I will miss her being on my pillow after I did my rituals.
She would always sit down after I got up and lie on the pillow.
Tonya shared with me the prayer to say in her Cherokee tradition and I am honored to share it,
I wrote it on her box that Ed made for her.
“With Love, you return Home.
With Love, we return the Vessel to Earth that was borrowed when you came to help us…
With Love we speak…
With Love we speak…
With Love we speak…”
Kadishdee,
Always walk in beauty…
Meg
